I cannot wait. I am headed down to the Gulf to do a little deep sea fishing with my dad this weekend. My mom and my wife are going to do some shopping and a spa day while we are gone. This works out perfectly for all of us. My dad and I get some father son time alone, and mom gets some girl time with my wife. I love how they get along so well. It makes for a really good marriage.

New numbers
I bought some new numbers for the house, but they are on an address plaque. I found it on a website and liked it a lot. I had to show it to my wife first of course, but she agreed that this was exactly what we wanted on the house. I am ordering one for my mom and dad too. I think it will make a great Mother’s Day present, even if it is for both of them. I think they will like an address plaques for their own home.
Address signs make a house look distinguished, like the people are proud of their home. I have seen them around, but never knew where to buy them before. Now that I know, I can have some made as Christmas gifts for my family and friends. It is a much better gift, because it is something that takes a lot of thought and caring. I am sure that my wife will agree with that as she was charmed by them as much as I am.
She loved it
So I got my mom a cheese cake and of course she loved it. I have so much fun buying things for the women in my life. Of course I like to buy stuff for dad too sometimes, but you cannot always predict what dad may want. The man has everything. Mom on the other hand is easy to buy for. Just get her a cheese cake and she is the happiest person in the world. I don’t understand why men complain about women so much, when they are easy to please.
My sister is the same way. She loves cheese cake as much as mom does and is happy to get one. Don’t ask me why they just don’t buy themselves one more often, because that is a question I cannot answer. Probably because I do it for them. Of course they are always going on about their weight, so that might be it, but I doubt it. Doesn’t really matter because it gives me a reason to spoil them.
Dessert
I sent a gift to my mom that I know she is going to like, a gourmet cheesecake. It is my moms absolute favorite dessert. Usually she makes it herself and her cheesecake is amazing, but it is nice to be able to send her one. My wife found them online and suggested that we send one to mom. She loves my mom and they get along so well, that I am very lucky. A lot of women don’t get along with their mother in law, but I don’t have that problem.
I can’t wait for the phone call I know I am going to get after my mom receives her cheesecake. My dad will be chuckling next time I see him, telling me that I am buttering my mom up for something. I won’t hear him complaining though because he likes it as much as mom does. I have never seen two people who like cheesecake as much as they do. I don’t really eat it that much anymore, because we had it so much when I was growing up.
Working on the house
We decided to work on the outside of the house and get it ready for spring. We want it to look really nice, so we have made a plan on what we will do. It definitely needs a coat of paint and a few little details that can make it look the way we want it. We are going to get some personalized address plaques for the front of the house. I haven’t decided exactly what kind I want though. We have debated between us what will look better with the colors we have chosen for the house and trim.
I think bronze address plaques would look better, but my wife really likes the whitehall address plaques . To be honest, either one would look nice but I think the bronze will bring out the black trim much nicer, or vise versa. We will probably ask her mom and mine to get their opinion and hope they can make a tie breaker. It would be the diplomatic thing to do.
