I was surfing the web and looking up some of my favorite business people. I found martin hanaka on this neat site. His house is amazing. It is right on the water in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I wish I could afford a place like that. Who knows, maybe one day I will. I know that my wife would certainly love to live in one of those.

Helped a friend move
My buddy Carl had to move last night. Unfortunately, he lost his house and had to be out before midnight. I have never been so sickened by anything in my life. His wife let everything go for months and since he was working two jobs could not clean the house himself. That was the worse mess I have ever seen in my life. There wasn’t any order to anything and nothing had been cleaned in the kitchen or any where else in the house, not even the dog messes or cat boxes. He finally had to admit that something was seriously wrong with his wife and that she needed help badly.
In the past, my wife and I used to go there for BBQ’s and such. Their house was never like that before. He is going to get her family to help him get her to check herself into someplace for a little while. I think that would be the best thing for her, because no rational person lives in filth like that willingly.
Chilly out
It’s really chilly outside today and I am not sure I want to brave it. I think I may just veg around the house. There are a few things I can do inside and perhaps a nap will be nice too. I haven’t done the lazy Saturday thing in a long time, so I would say that I am due for one. I won’t feel sorry about it for even a minute.
Getting prepared
I am already getting prepared for the holidays. I decided to get some of my shopping done early, by ordering a few things online. I have a lot of family members that have commented over the last year about the improvements to the house we made. One of the things they loved the most, is the house signs. I have decided to have some of them made for different family members and one of my neighbors. The address plaques are personalized which means that the gift will be much more appreciated.
Taking the time to purchase personalized gifts shows that a person cared enough to actually give thought to the gifts they give. It is one of those things that my parents taught me was very important when it comes to the people you love. So I am going to order a few personalized house address plaques and make those special gifts really mean something.
Kitchen bar
When we decided to remodel the kitchen we wanted to open it up as it was a closed in kitchen. After extensive remodeling, we have accomplished that and now have a bar that opens into the living room dining room area. We are now going to purchase bar stools for it as well. I haven’t decided yet if I want padded ones nor not. We are still debating that. I am happy that we can finally buy them though.
We also have a bar outside, that is an actual liquor bar for parties and BBQ’s. The bar stools we have out there are old and need replacing as well, but we don’t want the same ones as what we get for inside the house. We want the ones for the patio bar to match the out door furniture. That might be a bit difficult, but not impossible. Either way, I am sure we will be happy with whatever we decide to buy.
