I am still working on the back patio. It is relatively slow going right now as I haven’t had a lot of free time. Work has gotten really crazy, plus the rain added to it hasn’t helped much. I have however bought the patio pavers I needed for out back and I am just waiting for the rain to let up so I can start to lay them down. I also have the landscape lighting installation to get done after wards, but I am not in a great hurry with that part yet. My wife is anxious to have it all done so she can plan a BBQ.

It will be done in time for Memorial Day though, that I am sure of. paving stone doesn’t take very long to put down and the lighting should only take about two days total. I have a friend coming in to help me with that part. Most of the back yard is already finished and this just needs to be done. I am sure that my wife will find other stuff to do to it over the summer. We are determined to have an oasis in our backyard for relaxing and entertaining in. I will be happy when it is done though.

Found and old friend

I really like the internet. It enables us to connect to people we have lost touch with over the years. I was able to connect recently with an old friend who moved away when we were back in school. He and I were best buds through junior high and then he was gone. Life moved on, but I always wondered what happened to him and how he fared in life. Well I was able to find out just that. I was on facebook and through another friend managed to find him. Now that we are reconnected, we are going make sure we get together soon. Hopefully this summer. I am so very stoked about this and I cannot wait to see him.

Chocolate

My wife loves chocolate. Much like most women do I imagine. Every now and then I order her favorite Belgian chocolate for her. She absolute goes nuts when I do too. I love it when she is really happy and for some reason this chocolate makes her giddy like a child. I have heard that chocolate makes the brain produce endorphin’s or some such thing like that. I don’t know myself, but there are a lot of different theories about it.

I have even read the history of chocolate to see why it affects people in such a way as it does. I suppose that we will never really agree why it does what it does, but that doesn’t matter. So long as it makes my wife happy, then I am happy. I might have to buy some for my mother as well. She loves the stuff just as much as my wife.

I cannot wait to see Avengers. I almost went this weekend, but I knew that the theaters would be packed. I would prefer to wait and go during a week day and not deal with a packed house. I think I will sneak out of work early tomorrow and have my wife do the same. We can meet up at the theater and see the movie, then have an early dinner out. I know that she will really enjoy that and so will I.

Architect

I have decided to hire a Custom Home Architect to redesign the pool area and patio that we want. We just aren’t happy with what we have and want something a little more elegant. We are thinking about something that corresponds with the garden, like a nature pool. I saw one in a magazine a few years ago and have had the idea in my head ever since then. I want it to look completely natural, as if it is an oasis somewhere in the mountains. I know that it will cost a pretty penny, but even my wife thinks it is worth it.

It is not going to take but a couple of weeks to accomplish since we know exactly what we want. This place is shaping up nicely and shouldn’t take too much longer to finish. That has us so excited. We will finally be finished with all of the remodeling and construction. Well, we will be done with the construction, but I think we will never be completely be finished with remodeling or at least redecorating. We like to shop too much for stuff.

Work trucks

I am browsing through http://www.parkautomall.com looking for used trucks for the business. It has been a long time since I have purchased any new work vehicles. The ones I have are getting old and worn out. We bought them when we first started the company and that was long ago. Since our company has grown a lot, it is time to purchase new trucks. We are able to at this time due to a new contract I just finished negotiating. I am so very happy about that.

This site is neat as they also have a used car blog as well as videos and pictures. I have found almost everything I need so far and I am not finished looking. The wife is going to take the day off so she can help drive the vehicles back to the shop after we buy them. We will have to make a couple of trips because I can’t take any of the employees with us as we have too much work right now with dead lines that have to be met.

Breakfast

This morning’s breakfast was amazing. I woke up to find that my wife had gotten up early and made a huge breakfast for us. She made eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and muffins. She said she woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep, then had a craving for a big home made breakfast before work and started cooking. I ate so much I am going to have a hard time concentrating on work this morning, but I don’t care. I really enjoyed it.

Good prevention

I decided to look into safes for the home as a preventative measure in case of any kind of disaster. It wont matter if it is a flood, fire or a tornado, the safes I am looking at will protect whatever I want it too. I noticed that with all the recent tornadoes and such that people are losing so much and than to lose all of their documentation as well is just horrible.

With all of that in mind, I started looking for safes so we wouldn’t have to worry about that as well. It makes me feel better knowing that I can protect the most important stuff we may need after a disaster. I know that my wife is over joyed that I thought to do something like this. She has always worried that the house would burn down or something and we would lose everything. Now she can rest easy knowing that it is safe.

This is absolutely the best day ever. I won five thousand dollars on a scratch off ticket from the gas station. I cannot believe it! I never win anything, even though I buy them all the time. The best I ever do is another ticket or the price I paid for the ticket. I am so happy about this. I think I am going to use part of it this weekend and make it a really big one. Have a great day ya’ll, I know I am.

Spare bedroom

We have two spare bedrooms. One has a double bed in it and the other has been used for storage of some minor stuff and most of that is in the closet. Since we are having our nephews for the weekend, we have decided to make the bedroom into a room for them. We are going to put in a bunk bed for them. It has been a long time since we have had them over for weekend visits and we want to rectify that. We used to have them over all the time and somehow that kind of stopped. I suppose life got so busy that we just didn’t have time and forgot how much we enjoy our time with them.

A bunk bed is so much better for them, because they can feel like they have their own space while they are here. I am going to go get them a TV as well, so if they want to watch cartoons in the morning before everyone else is up, they can without waking us. They tend to get up very early. I was going to let them pick put the bunk bed but then it wouldn’t be here for this weekend and that will not do. I want everything ready for their visit.
