Military Planes no comments
Walked my dog and noticed a strange sound in the sky. Now, I live pretty close to the big airport and hear jets all the time. But this sound was different. So I looked up and saw this weird plane hovering overhead, then it shot off and disappeared. No, I’m not talking about an alien ship. I’m just saying, this was no Southwest Airline jet. This was a military plane, an Osprey. They are like a combination jet and helicopter.
So, next thing I know, there comes another, but this one doesn’t hover over my house, it just goes streaking across the sky. And then three more follow along pretty close to it. So that was pretty cool. I’ve never seen that before.
Extra Laundry no comments
One household chore I don’t like and put off until I HAVE to do it is: laundry. I don’t know why I can’t stand to wash clothes. I think it might have more to do with the folding and putting them away than the actual washing.
So I got a whole lot of laundry done yesterday. Spent hours doing it. Even washed all the towels and the sheets and comforter. So today I get home and found that one of the dogs puked on the bed. So now I have to take off all the sheets and the comforter and wash them ALL again today.
Don’t know why the dog puked. That worries me more than having to wash the sheets again.
Bugs and Bees no comments
This summer is going to be very buggy. I can tell already. The bugs are everywhere – in all shapes and sizes. We have the cicada invasion this year. We have mosquitoes. We have black wasps, red wasps, bumblee bees, honey bees, sweat bees and yellow jackets. No wonder I have a hundred birds in and around my yard every day – it’s like a huge aviary buffet.
Old Trophies no comments
Last time I visited my mom’s house, she gave me a big box of stuff that she found in the garage. It was a bunch of old model car kits, some old spray paint cans, and all my old baseball trophies.
It’s kind of cool to see the trophies again. They meant a lot to me when I was playing Little League. I don’t have any place to put them out in my house right now, but I might go buy a wall shelf and put it up in the living room to keep my trophies on.
New Neighbors no comments
A few houses down from my place has been for rent for a while. I think they were asking too much money for rent. With the bad economy, people can’t afford as much in rent as they used to. But yesterday I saw a U-Haul truck in the driveway, so I went down there to say hello. I guess the owners finally found someone who can afford their house.
My new neighbors are a nice young lady, Joann, and her boyfriend. Joann was there with her mom and her boyfriend was at work, so I didn’t get to meet him yet. Her mom was real nice, too. I’m glad we have some nice people about my age moving into the ‘hood.
