Tumbling Leaves no comments
The leaves are still falling in my neighborhood, even though they starting turning color back in early October. I think it might have to do with so little wind this year.
My neighbor, Josh, has twice as many trees in his yard as I do. His whole back yard is shaded with trees, as I only have about 6 or 7 that I have to mow around. The problem with having so many tees is having to rake up all the leaves in the fall.
Today, both Joshand I were out there raking leaves to get them bagged before the trash truck comes around in the morning. If I miss the trash truck, I either have to stash the bagged leaves for another week or drive them all the way across town tot he recycling center that accepts leaves and yard waste.
An Extra Hour Tonight no comments
Tonight we all get an extra hour of sleep, thanks to Daylight Savings Time coming to an end. I always set my clocks back when the late night news comes on, as I am rarely up at 2:00 am to do the official change back. I figure that if I’m asleep I don’t know when it’s 2:00 am anway.
Pets no comments
We currently have too many cats. It wasn’t planned, it just happened. My wife and I had two cats, Oliver and Sugaree, that are more like our babies than pets. A friend asked if we could “babysit” her two cats while she was in between homes, and she hasn’t retrieved them! Four cats is a lot. We have multiple cat boxes and way too many cat food bowls around the house. They also make too much noise at night while I am trying to sleep! I am calling the friend and asking her to come back for her cats soon! I can’t take this much longer!!
Steak for Dinner no comments
If you want to have a steak for dinner, where do you go?
I like to grill steaks at home. I would buy the best steak I could find at Sam’s Club and take it home to cook it just right.
But if I had to go out to a restaurant to eat the best steak, I have a lot of choices here. The Morton’s is really good but a little uppity. I think that Longhorn actually has the best atmosphere, the best menu and the best bar.
So my pick is Longhorn. What’s yours?
It’s Not Running no comments
Got a knock on the door about my old car sitting in the back of the house. You can see it from the street if you are looking real hard. But most people drive by my house so fast they don’t notice anything in my back yard. so it creeps me out to think someone was driving so slow down my street and looking for stuff in people’s backyards.
So this guy wanted to know if I was interested in selling my old car. And I’m not really interested. If I can scrape together an extra $2,500 I want to get the transmission repaired and drive it again. So I told him no and made sure he drove off and didn’t linger. Now that I think of it, I’m going to put a flood light with a motion detector on the corner of the roof. I would not be surprised if this guy comes back later an night to do something evil.
