There has just been too much rain lately. We cannot pour concrete in the rain. I have two job sites on hold until the storms pass. I hope this isn’t a portent of the spring we have coming, because it will put us really far behind our deadlines. If we don’t make our dead lines, we lose money. Our contract has penalties for finishing the jobs late. Note to self; make sure that late deadlines due to severe weather cannot be held against the company in the future. Grrrr

Flower girl baskets
My niece is going to look so cute carrying one of these Flower girl baskets in the wedding. The girls still haven’t chosen exactly which one they want, but I am sure that they will soon. I of course, gave them my opinion on it, which they promptly ignored. I will call my buddy and have him harass them about it just for fun. The girls insist they can’t pick out the basket until they pick out her dress, but I think they can pick the dress to match the basket. Apparently that is not how you do things though. You pick the accessory to match the clothing. Who knew?
Wedding favors
Whoo hoo! They are going to let me help with the wedding planning. I am looking online for Wedding favors. I already told them how much I like the beach stuff, but it is not a beach themed wedding so that part is out. I have looked through a lot of stuff and the bride can order stuff with their names on it as well as the dates, or something generic. The favors can also double as center pieces for the tables at the reception. I don’t think she wants them to be the center pieces though, because she didn’t tell me to look for anything like that. She just said to make sure that the price was reasonable.

Food drive
Well the wife and I have volunteered ourselves for the annual food drive for Thanksgiving. We always help in some way or another, but usually it is through donation alone. This year we are going to make good use of the company trucks and collect and deliver food. We have enlisted the help of some of the staff as well. Everyone is really excited to be doing something positive for those who are less fortunate. I am proud of my employees for jumping in with us and making a difference.
