It’s Hot no comments
With this heat wave, it gets very hard to be motivated enough to cut the grass and do other chores outdoors.
It seems that most of the country is having a very hot summer, with record setting high temperatures all along the East Coast and throughout the southeast. The temperature has been above 90 degrees since the third week of May. We may well set a new record for the number of consecutive days with temperatures above 90 degrees.
Vancouver Olympics no comments

The winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver this year. The winter sports includes some of my favorite competitions, such as ice hockey and downhill skiing. I’ve never been to Vancouver but would reallu like to find a way to go there soon. I bet there is plenty of things to see and do, even after the Olympics are finished.
Drink More Water no comments
When it is this hot, I sweat. It has been so hot that as soon as you step out of the shower you start sweating again. I’ve been using a fan in the living room to help keep my airconditioning use down, but it is really uncomfortable in the middle of the day and it takes a long time to cool back down at night. I’m trying to drink a lot more water and stay out of the house during the day as much as I can.
Ant Invasion no comments
This mornng when I stepped off the porch and headed to the car, I noticed that something was moving on the steps. So I stopped and took a closer look and found out that there are like a million ants going across my step and up to the house and they disappear into a little crack between the bricks and the siding.
So I went back in the house and found a can of bug spray and unloaded the whole can on those suckers. I hate bugs.
Ticks and Fleas no comments
With all this rain and the grass growing like crazy, this is going to be a banner year for ticks, fleas and other outdoor bugs. I’m mostly worried about mosquitoes. I do go outdoors enough during the week to make it worthwhile slathering on insect repellent, so I feel like a moving target at dusk. On the weekends if I’m outside, I’ll go ahead and use some bug spray.
Time for my dogs to get their Frontline so they are protected against the bugs, too.
