My niece had surgery on Monday. They had to fuse her spine to straighten it out. It was curved like a question mark from the scoliosis. The surgery took nine hours and went very well, but afterwards we got quite a scare. They gave her the pain medication too early and she stopped breathing. They had to put her on a breathing machine for a few hours and give her other medication to counter act what they had done before. We think she just got so relaxed that her lungs just stopped. It happens, but I am certainly happy that they were able to get her breathing again. She is going to be fine now and will be out of the hospital in a few days. She will have a long road to recovery though.

Can’t sleep
I guess all of the sleep I got over the past few days as I was trying to kick the flu bug was more than enough. The problem with that is, I have to work tomorrow and can’t sleep now. I was looking forward to having energy and being on top of my game, but it looks like I am going to work tired anyway. Ah well, I I know for sure that I will sleep good tomorrow night. I am sure though that I will get a little sleep later, but for now I suppose I will do a little web surfing.
I will have to find a boring documentary to watch. That always puts me right to sleep. Then again, I can put on a really long movie with lots of music. The Lord of the Rings is really good for that. If I want to take a nap, I put that movie on. Don’t get me wrong, I love the LOTR trilogy, but it seems to have that effect om me. I think it may be the music in it or something. I am not sure, but it definitely works. Well wish me luck people, while I go do my surfing. Maybe I can find some good deals or something.
Hungry for some chicken soup
I know I am sick, but I am hungry and craving chicken soup. I think that is what I want to have for dinner. I am going to toss the ingredients into the crock pot and let it cook the rest of the day. That way I will be helping my wife and getting what I need as well. It shouldn’t take longer then fifteen minutes to throw together. Then I can take myself back to bed. By the time I am finished with it, the medicine I just took should be kicking in.
I will let my wife add whatever sandwich or side to dinner when she gets home. She is really good about that. I know that she appreciates my help and will probably be surprised that did as much as I am being sick and all. Alright, I am off of here. Later gators!
Home sick
I give up. Decided to stay home because I am just too sick to be at work today. I may have a lot to do, but someone else will have to take care of what they can for a day or so. I think the fever is what is keeping me down more than anything, but this chest congestion is getting worse. I have a lot of guys out sick right now as well, and if anyone else calls in we will have to shut down the jobs sites for a week until everyone can get back to work. I don’t want to do that, but honestly, I need healthy employees. If I am left with no choice, then I will shut them down. I can always find something for the guys who aren’t sick to do around the shop for a few days. After all, I don’t want them to loose a weeks pay as well.
I am going to take some meds in a little while and go back to sleep. Maybe if I am lucky, I can sleep this out and get back to work tomorrow. I am not very hopeful about that though. I hope my wife doesn’t come down with this. It is pretty nasty.

Hey, I think this hcg stuff might help me loose the weight I put on over the holidays. My wife told me that her sister has been taking it and it has worked great for her. I don’t really like to diet or anything like that, but my pants are just a little too tight for comfort right now. I hope this works for me, because I don’t feel like having to buy new pants so I can be comfortable at work. It is the worse thing for a man, to be uncomfortable at work. I will give it a try and see what happens.
