Found and old friend

I really like the internet. It enables us to connect to people we have lost touch with over the years. I was able to connect recently with an old friend who moved away when we were back in school. He and I were best buds through junior high and then he was gone. Life moved on, but I always wondered what happened to him and how he fared in life. Well I was able to find out just that. I was on facebook and through another friend managed to find him. Now that we are reconnected, we are going make sure we get together soon. Hopefully this summer. I am so very stoked about this and I cannot wait to see him.

Architect

I have decided to hire a Custom Home Architect to redesign the pool area and patio that we want. We just aren’t happy with what we have and want something a little more elegant. We are thinking about something that corresponds with the garden, like a nature pool. I saw one in a magazine a few years ago and have had the idea in my head ever since then. I want it to look completely natural, as if it is an oasis somewhere in the mountains. I know that it will cost a pretty penny, but even my wife thinks it is worth it.

It is not going to take but a couple of weeks to accomplish since we know exactly what we want. This place is shaping up nicely and shouldn’t take too much longer to finish. That has us so excited. We will finally be finished with all of the remodeling and construction. Well, we will be done with the construction, but I think we will never be completely be finished with remodeling or at least redecorating. We like to shop too much for stuff.

This is absolutely the best day ever. I won five thousand dollars on a scratch off ticket from the gas station. I cannot believe it! I never win anything, even though I buy them all the time. The best I ever do is another ticket or the price I paid for the ticket. I am so happy about this. I think I am going to use part of it this weekend and make it a really big one. Have a great day ya’ll, I know I am.

New membership

I decided to get a new membership to a gym. It has been a long time since I have worked out and I actually miss it a lot. I have gotten out of shape lately, even though I work a lot and tend to do enough manual labor at home to keep me semi fit. I am not happy with that though and intend to fix it. I got a family membership in case my wife wants to go as well. Not that she needs it, she is as trim as can be, but you never know. She might like to go with me. We shall see.

I want to be here on vacation so bad I can’t stand it. I am way past due for a good vacation and I already checked the prices on flights and packages. I am going to surprise the wife with a dream trip to the South Pacific. She has always wanted to go there and got me interested in it too. I found this picture online and just couldn’t resist any longer. I am going to do it.

How the Japanese Pimp their rides

They call it Dekotora art and it lights up at night like a carnival. I think in a way it is a little over done, but it looks cool as hell. I can imagine for Japanese kids that it is an amazing spectacle to see, much like our own monster trucks are for American kids.

Cartoons

Yup, I love cartoons, just as much now as I did when I was a kid. We have all the cartoon movies that have come out, including all of the Disney movies. So when we do have a kid, I wont have to worry about buying them. It must be a guy thing because my wife isn’t really into them, but all of my guy friends are. I guess the old adage is true. Guys never really grow up.

I found out some interesting news this morning. My foreman in charge of the crews tells me that there are missing supplies on one of the job sites. Just lovely. Fortunately, I have insurance to cover stolen supplies but now I am going to have to post a night watchman on the site, which is going to cost more money than my bid for the job allowed. I may have to make them hire someone and just tell them that it is their responsibility as it is their site. That sounds like a good idea to me.

Spring

I love spring and I hate cutting the grass. It smells great but I end up with hey fever from it. Yes I have taken the allergy medicines but they only help marginally. My wife keeps telling me to wear a mask but I just cannot bring myself to do it. I would rather put up with the hey fever then to do that. I doubt I would be able to breath that well with it on anyway.

I have so much to do today, it is not even funny. Both cars needs washed, the yard mowed, the pool cleaned, and the garage needs to be cleaned out. I don’t think I am going to be able to get all of this stuff done in one day, but one day is all I have. If I don’t manage to get it all done, the wife is going to be a wee bit upset. It is my fault though, as I have been putting a lot of stuff off for the last couple of weeks. Oh well, time to get busy.
