My wife is a big fan of gourmet chocolates. I had to hunt for a place to buy them for her this year. The store that I went to last year has gone out of business and closed. So I did a search on the internet and found another store across town. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to getting my sweetheart her chocolates!

We have to accommodate both families for Thanksgiving this year. So we will be eating two dinners. We go to her parent’s house at noon and then to my parent’s house at 6:00. And we start our diets tomorrow!

The convenience store has put out candy apples. they have three or four different kinds. The traditional candy apple has a hard red syrup coating, like an apple encased in a red lollipop. The new ones have a caramel coating, and most of those have sprinkled crushed nuts in the caramel. Some of them even have sugar sprinkles on the caramel.

The only thing that bothers me about buying candy apples is that you don’t get to see what shape the apple underneath is like. If there are bruises or even worm holes in the apple, how would you know until you bite into it?

Today I plan to do nothing but chill. I’ve been wanting a day off for a long time. I would grill some steaks or something traditional for the Labor Day scene, but to be honest, I don’t want to have to do that much work. I think I’ll order a pizza and not worry about cooking anything.
