State of Nashville no comments
Finally. Today the sun has come out and we are finished with the marathon rains. There is a slight breeze, just a few puffy clouds in the sky, and the temperature is around 70 degrees. This is perfect camping weather.
I got gas this morning at the station closest to my house for $2.13 a gallon. I bet it is among the lowest prices in the area. In the “Land of Plenty” gas is still around $2.46.
The leaves have started turning color and are already falling. I’m ready for football and chili.

Data in the Clouds 1 comment
The buzz in the computer industry is all about cloud computing. I don’t really understand why we have to do our computing in the clouds. So I started looking for a good explanation of cloud computing. This guy, Jeremy Cone, seems to be able to explain it in plain English:

Back to Football and Hockey no comments
The best thing about September is that we finally get back to the football games and hockey games. I love Monday night football and I always find a way to get to a dozen or so hockey games. These games on my big HDTV flat screen on the weekends are what make working all week worthwhile.
Candy Apple Time 1 comment
The convenience store has put out candy apples. they have three or four different kinds. The traditional candy apple has a hard red syrup coating, like an apple encased in a red lollipop. The new ones have a caramel coating, and most of those have sprinkled crushed nuts in the caramel. Some of them even have sugar sprinkles on the caramel.
The only thing that bothers me about buying candy apples is that you don’t get to see what shape the apple underneath is like. If there are bruises or even worm holes in the apple, how would you know until you bite into it?
